What's something you learned in the military you still do today?

So, here I am cleaning my 5 year-old daughter's room and I put a few books on the shelf, and I made them all in height order (Something that was required of plebes at USNA) then I started thinking. Oh, I'm always on time or ahead of time, "Hurry-up-and-wait." Now, granted, I've adapted to veteran/family life so when "We" go somewhere, we're fashionably late, but when I go, I'm early.  Does anyone else have a funny thing they still do that they "Don't have to..."  One Retired Admiral I know still balls up his socks and puts them on the shelf "Smiling" (his wife told me...)

Although I'm still in the Military, there are lots of things I don't "have" to do anymore for various reasons. I'm one of those who still rolls my socks... and if I'm packing, I roll the rest of my clothes too.

I still fold my towels the way I did at USNA and still use the day/month/year format for dates (still roll my clothes when packing and show up early, as well).

Fold my shirts like I did in the military. Make my son do push ups, write RBIs and line up rocks like I did when I got in trouble. So many things I learned in the military I still do.

I still provide weather forecasts for friends and associates. I have used my skills for about 25 years with National Short-track racing programs and will be doing it for 2014 too, One of the top World of Outlaw Sprint Car Team, owners and driver was told by the owner of East Bay that I was the best forecaster ever. I worked at Q-105 in Tampa at the time and we salvaged many programs by a more proactive approach to the weather.

I mostly enjoy the Physics of weather and will be furthering my education at Embry Riddle. My one commander wanted me to go through the AECP while I was in, but really didn't know if it was for me then.
