What's the best way to secure my important documents while living in the barracks or being on deployment?

Get a small safe that will fit in your locker.!!! Dial Lock Security Safe 0.88 CuFt Avanti about 100 bucks, most also have a cable lock. You can keep everything in it. YOur NCOs will thank you. There is always thieves.

A safe deposit box in a local bank would be another option. While deployed, I would have those stored with family rather than packed away in your household goods. Less risk of something happening to them and they'll be at least semi-accessible in an emergency.

Get yourself a safe from Walmart and keep the key in a safe place. Don't trust anyone with those documents, e.g. wife, girlfriend.

I have everything in a fire resistant and water resistant box I also have copies of everything in a manila folder that I left with my parents for safe keeping and lastly I have digital copies of everything important it's not valid if printed but at least it's a way to get to it quickly if you need information.

I would also recommend you have a digital back up that you can keep on a secured thumb drive. I have one and I love it. I have redundant back ups so if one gets lost, not to worry you have another and the lost one is under secured password.

make copies alot of them and give them to your family or someone you trust.

depends where are you stationed? you can register them at any court house in the US, I have my dd14 in several places..... its easier than trying to go back and find it.... over seas , buy a safe or talk to your coc and ask to use theirs.
