I teach science in College and interview students for admission into medical school, which we have been doing by VTC due to COVID. Recently, I had a great young man for an interview. Typical straight A’s, top-tier test scores, plenty of health-focused community service, an outgoing and charismatic personality, and dressed in appropriate professional attire. We reached the end of the interview and there was a break in the schedule before the next interaction. The candidate neglected to mute his microphone and didn’t turn off his video, but stood up, unawares, to walk around his room and do some stretches. However, while he had a suit coat and tie on his top half, his bottom half was adorned by black boxers with images of big, red hearts and lipsticks marks patterned regularly across them. The candidate didn’t seem to mind as he stretched down to touch his toes in front of the admissions staff, and eventually sat back down as unaware of the situation as when he stood up. That is the most awkward moment I have had.

Actual Zoom call: I was on a video conference call for a national ports organization, which has a TEAM USA and an Olympic team. I was on the committee to investigate and vote on future members of the national board. One candidate, I'll call "JT", had been in this particular sport's leadership community for decades (and therefore a strong candidate, except...). He was respected by many but ruffled the feathers of others. During the Zoom call, I asked him a question which required him to stand up to get some documents I sent him. As he stood up, we all noticed he was wearing whity-tighties. Not because they were peaking out of his pants, but because he was wearing no pants. Now I was not the only one on the call. This call had 20 participants and not just from the US...from across the world! Good thing his undies were clean.

Our boss was conducting a meeting while sitting at his desk in his bedroom. He had a virtual background up with just the company name, nothing exciting. At one point he was trying to figure out how to share his screen or load slides and he accidentally turned the background off. Behind him was his bed with some sort of elaborate swing or similar device hanging down from the ceiling. It wasn't that strange that he had one, more that it was still there at 0900, or had been out up prior to said meeting.

Our youngest started kindergarten via virtual zooms. While his poor teacher was trying to lead them in a group art project, I saw one kid painting their face with the paint. Then suddenly you hear the teacher frantic going saying a kids name and watched as the kid cut their hair two inches from the head. The poor teacher is frantically trying to get them to not cut any more hair. The parent was nowhere to be seen. I felt bad, but the whole thing was so comical that I had to leave the room so I could laugh.

I was being interviewed and the very professional lady Doctor from VA Health was talking to me and couldn’t stop touching and rubbing her nose.

I saw a little light shinning on her nose and moved I closer to the camera and screen to see what she was doing with her nose. She caught me looking and asked what I was looking at. I said her nose and she replied “did something fall out of it”? And I had to pinch myself so I didn’t laugh out loud.

Watching myself on a medical va video with my va doctor who had previously injected my fingers on both hands with cortisome shots to attempt to correct TRIGGER FINGERS on several fingers and how i seemingly aged a few years waiting for the results??? Believe it or not the injections on both hands!!! Amazing & funny to me!!!!

The funniest thing I’ve seen during a video call was during an interview. It was fairly casual, both of us at home, and we were almost finished. The poor lady was in the middle of telling me about the benefits package and all of a sudden she has a cat on her face, it’s limbs wrapped around her head, hanging on and trying to climb upward at the same time. After I stopped laughing and she disengaged the cat, she explained her cat had been sitting next to her monitor and it’s tail knocked over a pen holder. It got spooked and leapt for safety!!

Man trying to get away with having a zoom meeting while on the toilet. Almost got away with it but the phone slipped down from its position, without him realizing it and showed him finishing using the toilet including him wiping his a_ _.

I am actually the mother of retired Sgt Buddy Mericle. When Buddy was deployed to Kuwait he would send a quick text for us to hook into Skype, no zoom back then, when he had time for a visit . I would then hook my laptop to our 52 in flat screen TV so the family could just stay in their places and visit with Buddy. Now to the best of my understanding it is somewhat like roughing it dorms, male and female separated. As we were chatting my oldest daughter out of the blue , and mind you she was 21 at the time suddenly says"hey Bud who is your friend?" And my son turns his head a bit and says hey man I am skipping with my family! My son's friend that interested my daughter had just come from the showers with towel around his neck and NOT around his waist where it should have been at that time. That young did a dive into his bunk as though his life depended on it. And it just may have because to my understanding that young man and my son were rooming with some of the more higher ranking officers that had boots on the ground! So we had a good chuckle and teased our daughter a little and were very happy to visit with my son!

Funniest thing I saw was my 6 year doing virtual skiing for his 1st grade class online. They had the kids get two kitchen utensils and put a video on virtual skiing. The kids absolutely loved it and I actually videoed the zoom meeting but it was so cool that was his gym class during 1st grade. Points for creativity. This is his world now, very digital.

So, I was in a video conference with my grandsons elementary school teacher & apparently her son has "exotic pets". In this case it was a REALLY ugly lizard. You seen them before, turret eyes that point all directions, but never in the same place at the same time. Really red tongues that are always tasting the air, or anything else. Oh, & are really, really fast moving. Especially when they are scared.
This one was, I guess about seven inches long & while she was talking, looking at me, then her notes, then back at me, I watched in absolute fascination (and dread) as this mini "Godzilla" looking thing slowly come up over her left shoulder. Slowly getting closer & closer to the side of her face. I didn't want to say anything, so I just kept staring at it & & whenever she would look at me, I tried to kinda nod with my chin to the left, hoping she would at least see it before something calamitous happened.
I guess she must of thought I was had a crook in my neck or something, cause she just ignored my actions. But she sure got a rude shock when "mini-zilla" decided that there was something interesting about her ever so tasteful (or tasty) gold hoop earrings & shot out its tongue, missing them and hitting her ear instead!
I have heard people scream before. But I do not think I have ever heard the decibel level, tone variation or the shear volume that came out of this young lady. The poor lizard did the only thing it could, jumped right into her hair & apparently started running hither around her hair. The few minutes she was on the air were...monumental. The call cut out abruptly & since She had my number,but I didn't have hers, I was afraid that she might have hurt herself (or poor mini-zilla). After about 30 minutes she called my cellphone & I could hear a child sobbing in the background. Thinking the worst, I asked if she was "ok" & she assured me she was...I then tentatively asked about the lizard (hey lizard are sort of "cool"). She said "oh yes she's fine, but "Sally" and her home is no longer allowed upstairs". That is why the child is unhappy. He will get over it. Do you have anything you want to talk about your grandson?". I assured that I dint and commended her on how quickly she cooled surprised & was surprised she even called me back.

She said, "Hey I am a 4th grade teacher, I can be surprised, shocked & flummoxed, but I bounce back fast".
I said "Yes Mam"

My college and I lead our first ever zoom presentation for a few clients. This was our first time using a slide show on Zoom. We started the Zoom, put on the slide deck, didn’t realize we were MUTED AND we had placed all our devices on “do not disturb” mode. It took us approximately 10-15mins and confusing gesturing to realize we had been muted the ENTIRE TIME!!! This is how how those chats become handy. We were very embarrassed! I don’t know about my teammate, but I felt really dumb after that…

As I was on a video call. I noticed that all a could see is my chin and a little bit of my t-shirt and my neck area, all in a small window on the upper right corner. This was on the news so maybe people have heard about it but I still chuckle every time I think about it. During a zoom court the prosecuting attorney had a dog filter on so he looked like a dog with floppy ears and with ever movement the dog filter moved with his actions. He apologized to the judge and the other legal counsel and his client. He said his kid had put the filter on and he could not figure out how to shut it off. They had the whole hearing with him as a dog. It was hilarious. I'm sure it is still up on the internet somewhere. If you want a good laugh you have to find it. Everyone kept chuckling throughout the hearing. Even the client couldn't contain himself and had a huge smile the whole time. Priceless.

Probably the funniest moment was in Afghanistan 2008 when we conducted a "Town Hall Meeting" for Fort Hood spouses and family to ask questions from the Colonel. He was a very brash man and was used to infantry speak and taking to Soldiers so when one of the wives asked; " I hear that the Soldiers are getting ACOG scopes and my husband was not issued one, I want to know why he was selectively not given one!". The COL moved around in his seat angrily on our end and kept his cool demeanor as he replied through gritted teeth....." Ma'am, these scopes are not foir every Soldier nor do they provide plaything special during combat but are selected for whatever the Soldiers job might be. Please do not think it was an intentional thing. "

Afterwards he cut his mic, turned off his webcam and yelled VERY loudly; " Goddammit this is the dumbest shit I've ever had to hear! Next time can you (pointing around the room at the various IT personnel) try at least a little to vet and preset the stage so we get real questions and not idiots like this?!"

During our first video session together, a Veteran was discussing his concerns. He appeared to be a very muscular gentleman with a very stoic expression. Anyway, as the Veteran was telling me his concerns, his cat jumped onto the back of the sofa behind him and started rubbing its head on the Veteran's face. The funniest thing that I have witnessed was a gentleman calling in to cancel his appointment and when asked the reason why he said he is stuck in traffic. In the back ground you can hear his friends talking saying get me a beer out of the refrigerator. The caller said get me one too. He was not in traffic he was at home or in someone else's home. I thought that was funny.

I am a financial counselor and during a meeting with a client, he picks up his computer and starts walking around the house. He ends up in the bathroom, where he faces the camera to the wall and then starts peeing. The first time I couldn’t hear anything so I just continued on and tried to be cool about everything but then the second time he does it I can hear him peeing in the background.

During a virtual class, kids around 12 years old we're learning about music. A dad was on a couch in the distance, pretty much unnoticed, until he leaned over and let out the largest fart. The teacher tried to ignore it and continue class but the kids all heard it and couldn't stop laughing.

The absolute best thing I have ever seen was the woman who forgot that her camera was on during a corporate-wide Zoom call. During the meeting, she was seen doing SEVERAL hilarious things like picking her nose and then looking at her finger, spinning around in her chair like a 6 year old and totally destroying a plate of chicken tenders. All of this, during a 30 minute meeting. Needless to say, she had her camera off for subsequent meetings.

The funniest thing I've seen was a clip of these kids doing online class, this one student made a card board cut out of himself and placed it right in front of the camera. The whole time I'm thinking why is he not moving or making g any facial expression when they zoomed in on him, even the teacher thought it was him, but what give him away was the floor fan blew the cut out over and u could of seen him sleeping on the bed. I died laughing, creativity at its best.

I saw a cat crawling back and forth on a counter behind the person I was talking to. So it looked liked the cat was going in one of his ears and out the other repeatedly. Like it was a tunnel. Some people have tunnel vision but he must have tunnel hearing. The cat was distracting yet entertaining.

The funniest thing I seen on a video was my sister in law was showing us how she taught her one year old daughter to use the dog stairs by the bed to get on top of bed well when she had her on video chat the baby got to the last step and she disappeared she had fell off the top step and my sister in law didn't even realize she was still talking to her like she was trying to coach her up the stairs

The funniest thing I've seen was during a group chat with my mom, sister, and niece. My niece's, American Pitbull/Australian Shephard, Blu doesn't like being on video calls. lol. My niece showed the phone to him so he could see us and he calmly got up and walked out of the room. It was so funny to see him peeking around the corner during our conversation.

During a School Zoom Session, sitting in with my daughter, seeing another of my 7 year old's classmates parents forget they are on camera and mic, and begin a heated husband and wife argument and their child eventually saying to them to stop because she can't hear the teacher. The parents immediately stop and faces turned red.

During a video conference one of our members got undressed to take a shower during the call… everyone tried to warn and notify however by the time they noticed that their camera was on everyone was covering their eyes and cracking up laughing! The person even came close to the camera to find out what we were laughing about when we told them we are laughing at YOU !

Was on a call with several DHS executives when one of the executive's mother came into the camera shot from the side and gave the DHS employee a kiss on the side of the head. Then the mother backed off out of camera view and disappeared for the rest of the call. Found he was in a closed room with a do not disturb sign, but that his mother has dementia and it seems that she just wanted to give her little boy a kiss.

My granddaughter always manages to find a way to embarrass me and she's only two. I was on a video call with a friend demonstrating how to do a stretch (after we had finished a video worked out together) she walks up behind me sniffs and says Grandma you smell like Mikey's peepee.

I was having a virtual appt with a VA provider and all of a sudden a dog started barking and barking. Then there was a knock on the door that was getting more and more noticeable. He then excused himself and opened the door for his son that had forgotten his house key.on his way back on screen I realized he was wearing basketball shorts and slippers to go with his starched shirt and tie.

MANY YEARS AGO... I was stationed at USEUCOM in the JOC. We were getting ready for a weekly VTC Commanders update. When doing set communications checks a kid (10 year old) was on the other end of one of the component VTCs. Wouldn't be that big a deal except this was a TS/SCI level brief.

The Pandemic has had its effects on all of us with Zoom calls and Webinars becoming a part of the normal day. Yet the setting and the environment is alien to the normal office decorum. No matter if it is the guy wearing surfing shorts and flip flops or the 3 yr old stealing the show at a presentation.

My funniest experience came as a graduate student receiving feed back on my dissertation. My professor was a very prim and proper Psychology Chair and she spoke with perfect diction and poise. She had also live in South America and had a beautiful sulfur crested Cockatoo that sat in her office at home the bird was beautiful and quite animated.

As I listened intently to the feedback, I began to notice over the professor's left shoulder, the bird was nodding intently with the professor every time I either explained or clarified a point. As we went on the Bird began to nod and then utter "Hmmm that is interesting..." This went on for a few minutes and then the bird as if on que said, "Well lets unpack this....followed by Hmm that is interesting..." The professor continued with her critique undaunted or distracted by the precocious Therapist behind her. As we came to a close the professor stated we still done a great deal of good work now we have to put it all together! I paused waiting for the bird to reply, he repeated a "great deal of work to do....." and flapped his wings in an agitated fashion. Then he put the cherry on top, when he exclaimed, "I am glad that is over!"

I put my head on the desk laughing and the professor broke her poise and just giggled and said, "He has been with me for 12 years and I guess he has say through a few of these sessions.

the day that one of my patients learned how to turn off the virtual treatment machine. when they are down they just go, "that's enough of this", and turn me off. sometimes you have to laugh because we are all dealing with this pandemic differently.

I started to video chat my old friend and the screen was a little out of focus and blurry and at first glance and it appeared to three thin human bodies that were shaking very fast almost violently and we’re moving up and down and side to side it almost looked sexual like an orgy so at first I started to logically understand what the image was about so I kept on looking and trying to focus the video image but at the same became woodies or the worst thing imaginable lol
