What’s the minimum rank required for SFAB?

I’m a PV2 and I heard from a ppl that there’s no rank minimum to join SFAB while on the site it only says something about being specialist promotable. If so, no biggie I can wait two years but if not, I wouldn’t mind grinding until I’m pfc and try out for it. Either way, I just want some more concrete answers from guys that are or were in it. Thxs in advance.

PFC Private RallyPoint Member E4 promotable or higher. SFAB is all about working with foreign partners to train soldiers/persons. Work on mastering your MOS and your skill level and then drop a packet when you have the points and TIG/TIS for your 5 slot.

SFAB is looking for experienced NCOs. In some cases, for some MOS's they will allow promotable E4s. But it is still a selection process, meaning that you will need to be an experienced and knowledgeable CPL to get selected. The selection is more than just the physical portion, you'll be evaluated and interviewed by the Senior NCOs you will be serving under.

SPC/P is what they are looking for. I have seen some MOS be waived in because SFAB is so short in those critical shortage MOS.

As an Advisor you are working with Partners and other US far above the rank of SPC, so it helps from a outside perspective to see formations filled with higher ranks. Not saying rank makes one person better than another, it just helps with perception.

You are also fairly autonomous, so you should be able to perform at a much higher level than peers of your rank are usually at. Not to mention the amount of cross training that happens. You really have to be a master of your craft IOT learn all of the other MOS essentially.

Grind it out, perfect your craft. Work with a mentor in SFAB of the same MOS. They can give you some tips and pointers on the type of Advisor they are looking for in your MOS.
