What's the most inspiring thing/event/quote you've had out on you?

I'm all about hearing what the great leader of the Military have said over the years. There's been some quotes or incidents I've heard of that really motivated me and they honestly had nothing to do with me what so ever. So what're your inspiring moments of your careers?

I've got a few. Some where said to me, and others were heard from a movie(s). But, the two that most stick in my head are:

1) From one of my WLC SGL's: "I don't care how you screw the chicken as long as you make the feathers fly." He gave this answer when asked how he would like a particular mission completed.

2) From the movie "Soldier" with Kurt Russel: "My daddy always said, "When you want to insert a nail into a piece of wood, don't do anything fancy or glamorous. Just take the damn hammer and hit the son of a bitch until it's in."

I can't remember if it was a movie or airborne school. But something to the effect of, We're airborne we are always surrounded.
My squad leader told me this. I was afraid of a command inspection. He was Korean-Vietnam Vet. Boy they put there pants on the same way you do, feet first.

I'll say this and quit. I asked and elderly African-American gentleman one time "How are you doing today". I was working at Lowe's at the time. He looked at me and stated "walkn on the ground" He seen the puzzled look on my face and then stated "not six feet under and not flat on my back in a hospital, it's a good day." nough said!
