The DS was very creative with her corrective training. He spent the morning collecting cigarette butts from around post, and spent the afternoon arranging them in brigade sized formation. he then spent the rest of his evening and night executing facing movements of the Marlboro Brigade, and pulling security on them with the help of the fire guard. Followed by another day of facing movements. A bunch of us got summary Article 15s after a health and welfare inspection, so we had to completely strip and rewax the orderly room floor every night for 2 weeks. The CQ was instructed that he would be on the hook for finishing the job if the floor did not appear adequately shiny when the first sergeant arrived the following morning.<br /><br />The really ironic part for me was that we had to use P-38s to scrape up the wax -- my offense had been to inadequately conceal the old gravity-blade knife I had been using to strip the floor in my barracks room. 1LT William Clardy Wed, 22 Apr 2015 23:35:56 -0400 2015-04-22T23:35:56-04:00 Response by SGT John Rauch made Apr 22 at 2015 11:51 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-s-the-worst-disciplinary-detail-you-ve-ever-been-saddled-with?n=611304&urlhash=611304 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I never personally experienced it, but I did see a guy standing on the side walk of Gruber rd on Ft Bragg wearing a sandwich board that said very boldly I AM ALWAYS LATE FOR FORMATION SGT John Rauch Wed, 22 Apr 2015 23:51:57 -0400 2015-04-22T23:51:57-04:00 Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 24 at 2015 12:02 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-s-the-worst-disciplinary-detail-you-ve-ever-been-saddled-with?n=614785&urlhash=614785 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Picking dead leaves out of the lava rocks where the space was 1 foot between the bush and the wall MSG Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 24 Apr 2015 00:02:23 -0400 2015-04-24T00:02:23-04:00 Response by PO1 Charles Norris made Jun 25 at 2021 12:59 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-s-the-worst-disciplinary-detail-you-ve-ever-been-saddled-with?n=7068772&urlhash=7068772 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was given the honor of cleaning out padeyes with a plastic spoon. I didn’t see eye to eye with this particularly overzealous SFC who would correct soldiers for a deficiency whether it was uniform or otherwise. As time went on the commander did not intercede after numerous reports of this particular individual not being reigned in,I had about had enough of the soldiers in my direct charge essentially being harassed by this NCO. One day I noticed one of this E-7’s soldiers out of uniform, so I discreetly said something to them, and they quickly made the correction. I didn’t realize that his boss was watching us, he came over and got up in my face and said I had no business correcting his soldiers so I needed to back off and mind my own business. I had enough of his arrogance at that point ( mind you, I had talked to the commander, the 1sg and the Lt’s on numerous occasions prior to this and they just blew it off and said that’s just the way he is) I was all in at this point. I then told this guy he needed to put his sleeves down because per reg it was not time for us to be wearing them up. His response was to get out of his face, I refused, I had enough of his bullying my soldiers and not saying anything to him because he was a Sr NCO that nobody would correct because he had a very strong character. It went from the correction to a shouting match, which led to the commander,1sg, and Lt’s all coming out to see what was happening. They made us break apart and go our separate ways, but I was not through with it because the command said to leave him be! I was the training NCO for the unit, I went back to my office and found the regs on the issue and showed them to my 1sg and then went directly to the SrNCO who was being the jerk and I slapped the reg down in front of him and told him “read it” he told me again to get out of his face I refused because at the time all the upper echelon were I. The room and I wanted them to witness the meeting. We went back and forth several times in a short period of time before the commander and 1sg broke things up. After this incident there were others with other NCO’s from his side that were harassing me and my soldiers and nothing was accomplished. An IG inspection was upon us and so I decided to let them know about the situation to see if they would poo poo the issue too. I waited in ranks that day until the CSM and his commander came through the ranks asking if we were ok or if we needed anything or any problems to work on… that was my cue to let them know about the unending altercations and harassment going on.I told the CSM and they immediately pulled me out of ranks and into to CO’s office. I told them what was going on, they finished their inspection and they left, but few weeks later all the NCO’s were called into the commanders office to let us know we would be having remedial training every morning before PT we would be required to write up what we would be teaching for the day, we had one hour each morning to do training before everyone came in for PT for about two months. Never did we have altercations in the midst of the upper echelon again. SGT James Wright Wed, 11 Jan 2023 11:57:11 -0500 2023-01-11T11:57:11-05:00 2015-04-22T22:49:08-04:00
