Take your time in your new job and get to learn the climate and politics of the workplace before making any changes. Things operate differently outside the military. It took me a few jobs to figure this out and things went much better for me then!

I would add, have a plan and know what you want to be when you grow up and be ready for disappointment and depression. Not every civilian company treasures your experiences and ability to do anything, they like people who specialize and can perform a particular function.
