I run 1 mile out and then turn back. By the time I get close to home I can start limping the rest of the way and get back home safely. Believe me I wish it could be more, and maybe someday it will be, but for now I am happy with anything past the end of my driveway. I like the halves though because that changes it from physical to mental sport, without the wear & tear of the marathon.

I aim for about 10x halves a year, and the training schedule provides the 10ks. I usually end up doing 2x marathons as well (Marine Corps & Disney World), and try to get an Ultra if I can.
