I run 1 mile out and then turn back. By the time I get close to home I can start limping the rest of the way and get back home safely. I like the halves though because that changes it from physical to mental sport, without the wear & tear of the marathon.<br /><br />I aim for about 10x halves a year, and the training schedule provides the 10ks.
