We love the fall colors, so decorating the outside with pumpkins, mums and haybails. We like to cleanup and get the homestead ready for the season.

Just like I did today. My son and I hiked Mt. LeConte in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park again. The colors up high were gorgeous. It is a great way to rejuvenate my soul and get my mind off of things for hours at a time. The 11.0 mile round trip was great. I love going out and walking through the woods even if it is a trail.

During Bow Season, It's During The Month Of October
To The Beginning Of November.
I'd Take A Blanket To Sit On And Often Woke Up An Hour Or So Later.. LOL

With the Minnesota Deer Management Hunt coming up I can sit for hours watching deer that are too young to be taken chase each other around biting each other's tails. Then if the time is right and I took every precaution to cover my trail and scent and I am in the right place I might take a nice buck. Old dead eye dick takes over and still hasn't lost it and there will be venison in my freezer to feed my family and share that good fortune with my kids and their families.

I love to go camping, specifically tent camping with my husband and dogs (Lily & Ruby). There's nothing like the crisp fall air, the occasional rain storm (rain sounds peaceful against a tent), and having a warm fire to end a fun day hiking, fishing, boating, etc.

For the last several years I have enjoyed watching the leaves turn and cutting down dead oak trees piling up the good fire wood for a neighbor and the rest making a huge fire. Operating my Bobcat has not only made the job easier but also fun. Watching the flames going 30 to 50 feet high is awesome.

Weekends are best relaxing on a beach if within range. Spending time with family or friends is a nice to have but also some alone time is ideal as well. Laying in a hammock, reading, and catching up on sleep.

My favorite way to spend weekends is camping, preferably by a lake or river to get some fishing in. Ever since the COVID reopening it's been really booked solid for reserving campsites around me so we've only gotten to go a few times the last year or so. There are BLM lands around I'd love to just get into for a few days but my youngest isn't quite at that point yet, another couple years and he should be ready to dig a latrine.

Outdoors, outdoors, outdoors! After spending the day antique bidding, going to outdoor festival with live music, apple cider, pumpkin foods to take home, participate in a Regatta before it gets too cold, then racing my house in the hills & vales, admiring the reality of God's creation, Ending the day near the water with a bonfire with friends and family, with warm drinks, a warm blanket to share with my adoring & adorable husband, listeningto & telling funny stories, talking philosophy, theology with the brilliant ones and the children. A full busy day where I can participate in without pain, fatigue with hope & Gratitude for the True, the Good, & the Beautiful. Singing His praises, too, staying up until the sun rises as we say Goodday to the crickets, the stars, and He Who gave them to us. Allthis without overwhelming stress, PTSD fear, a strong able fit body & mind, happy, grateful without fear of what's next, because joyful, holy, ridiculously funny, faithful, brilliant, friends &family are there to support mef one another in a shared goal & faith interest, and Love. And that's all I need.

There is something called the Fall Foliage that Tour throughout different counties in Ohio. Farms and businesses open up their ground to the public to enjoy and you drive around between them and enjoy all the different fall colors on the trees. It was one of my favorite things as a kid and still is as an adult!

My fav way to spend weekends in the fall is taking my two dogs to different hiking trails. its perfect weather to go out and explore. I also enjoy going to the bookstore with a cozy sweater and a good book. These are my fav things to do because they help keep me grounded and grateful for life.

Living in Colorado my wife an I love driving through the mountains and hiking. Recently we have been riding our bikes in Glenwood Springs, Breckinridge and even Pueblo along the River. Wow aspens are amazing..

First of all, Autumn is my absolute favorite time of the year. There is something so refreshing about the drop in temperature and the ability to see nature in its majestic glory! I love to take a drive to see the beautiful colors of the trees on the weekends (and if I can go on a hike even better!). And watching the leaves fall from the trees reminds me to let go of certain emotions that are no longer helping me: anger, resentment, bitterness and regret. Those toxic emotions need to leave me. And yes, I might feel extremely vulnerable and stripped like a tree in winter, but it leaves room for my joy, inner peace and healing for Spring.

My ideal weekend in the fall would be spending a quiet Saturday morning drinking coffee with the family, followed by a lunch downtown and a few hours at the park. Sunday morning is given to church and the evening is given to friends, where we camp out in front of the house and all the neighbors come over to sit around the fire.

Go out driving and/or hiking in a beautifully forested area and enjoy the leaf colors. Take some pictures along the way. In the evenings, enjoy my astronomy hobby with my friends because the air is clearest and crispest during the autumn season. And go to my university football games when I can (Ticketmaster makes it tougher all the time!).

Weekends or otherwise time off (I always worked weekends during my time in the Navy Band) is to get together with friends, or family, and have a cookout or meal day. Having each person make one unique dish is always a treat and makes people get creative.
