I haven't been too impressed with the brick and mortar shops around town. As much as I prefer to buy some stuff, such as clothing, in person, I think I might be best off going online. I joined REI while in Germany in 1978. They were just mail order then. When they opened A store near me 2005, I was still in their system so did not have to rejoin.
