This is going to take time to commit to, so pour 'em out. Mine will be added a bit later on as supplement to this discussion.

Signed,

A1C Rancourt What's your most inspirational speech? 2014-05-13T12:16:07-04:00 Thomas Rancourt 125750

What's the most inspirational speech that You, an Officer, NCO or other military member (can even be retired military) gave you or your group? I hope I've inspired people with the knowledge and tools to find hope in their personal finances. The 6 students that I had went "POOF" and it was worse then herding cats. I got tired of it. With the use of the Interpreter, I gave these 6 young Afghan soldiers (2 were women)and a$$ chewing tiraid that went on for about 45 minutes. I discussed such things as their lack of motivation for patient care, the fact that I was sent there from 10k miles away to teach them, I was missing the family (etc), that their actions were completely unacceptable, and that if they didn't want to be there, I would be more then HAPPY to help them find the door. My interpreter was VERY impressed (he was just as peeved by his fellow Afghans as I was...). I had 1 girl with tears in her eyes, 1 girl and 3 guys were trying to drill holes through the floor with their eyes (trying to see the next floor down), and the one student that was actually trying, met me eye to eye and agreed with everything that I said. Needless to say, I had no more problems with this group (or any other, so I suspect word of mouth happened!). I doubt I could replicate this speech, only a half hearted over-view of what happened! Strengthen my soul so that the weakening instinct of self-preservation, which besets all of us in battle, shall not blind me of my duty to my own manhood, to the glory of my calling, and to my responsibility to my fellow soldiers. Grant to our armed forces that disciplined valor and mutual confidence which insures success in war. Let me not mourn for the men who have died fighting, but rather let me be glad that such heroes have lived. If it be my lot to die, let me do so with courage and honor in a manner which will bring the greatest harm to the enemy, and please, oh Lord, protect and guide those I shall leave behind. Give us the victory, Lord."
General George Patton Response by PFC Stephens Clark made Oct 25 at 2014 11:43 AM 2014-10-25T11:43:32-04:00 2014-10-25T11:43:32-04:00 2014-05-13T12:16:07-04:00
