However, after being accepted HRC extends our DEROS dates but does not remove our assignment.

The guys and myself have talked to everyone from our BC to our Branch Managers. BC has us resubmit, with repeated results. Branch says there is nothing in the system. We don’t know what to do and we are all stuck overseas.

Please help. who can we talk to, what should we do? It’s not just one of us it’s a group but we are all only e-4 so civilians and hrc etc won’t listen. When I attempted, I was essentially told that it’s not impossible, but very improbable. Assignment deletions are a big deal with far reaching ramafications. They have a direct impact on readiness, the reasoning has to be sound and an absolute necessity. In most cases it is easier to get a deferment than a deletion. To compound the issue, you are in low density MOS.

If you COC is informed, you have been denied and are on a regular assignment, your reasons were t compelling enough, you do the tour.

Since your reason for deletion wasn’t posted, all else appears appropriate. You and your peers will likely proceed on orders as previously given. I have tried to change orders before for reasons that I thought were highly valid but they were not as valid to the Army they did change my report date to allow me time to clear up what I needed to but that was the best I got. So unless you have a very serious reason and I am almost positive there would not be 3 of you guys in the same place at the same time have such a major issue, I don’t foresee any of you getting those orders deleted. You have to understand that everything OCONUS is DEROS driven and you cannot be within six months of your DEROS and not be on assignment.
2. The needs of the Army overrule the needs of your unit. Your units need to fill your slot is significantly less important than the need for a FORSCOM unit to fill a slot for a deploying unit.

What you were trying to do was do an FSTE to stay in Korea. What you ended up doing was asking for a deletion. You can't just delete while you're OCONUS, your DEROS drives the date you have to be on assignment. You're not eligible to request an FSTE once you are on assignment, your branch has to put you on assignment NLT 6 months from DEROS. You don't have a valid reason to request a deletion. As I stated above, HRC decides who needs a 25N1 the most and they determined that your gaining unit had a greater need, someone else will he on assignment to fill your spot. Korea has a lot of turnover, that's just part of the tour.

As for changing your AI, your AI is being placed on assignment. You don't have your orders because you haven't turned in your levy packet to get your orders. You are 100% "on orders" when you have an AI. The fact you don't have physical orders yet is on you.

It's not that HRC isn't listening to you, your report date was adjusted. You're just asking for something that is not supported and something you were not qualified to ask for. Once you came on assignment you were no longer eligible to request an FSTE to stay in Korea longer. Your branch manager is not authorized to change your assignment. At this point, the closest thing that could change that is if your Commanding General personally requests an operational deletion. But this close to your DEROS and the fact your unit isn't deploying means his request would be denied SFC Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 15 Feb 2021 19:28:44 -0500 2021-02-15T19:28:44-05:00 2021-02-14T06:53:56-05:00
