First of all, remember that there always that may be associated with your future on sites like this. The first this game I would recommend is to get into the manuals that support your primary Duties. As an E4 they are not to complex to brush up and making you able to fit in with the discussions. Your leadership will know where you come from and understand the deficit. Go in motivated and ready to learn, particularly from those more junior to you. Our rank puts us ahead of those with lesser grade, respecting their knowledge will reflect to you subordinates that you know what you don’t know. For your leadership it will depict that you are humble. Take charge in every other area in which you can, reflect you aptitude in common tasks and Motor Pool activities. Be a leader in Physical Training. Do this and you will quickly refresh the skills related to your duties and fit in nicely. Thank you for your service.

Get a god bug repellant and use it often, even in winter and especially in the field. Check allergies as you will encounter every type of biting insect and creepy crawly out there. Make sure you can PT. You will be judged by how you can put out on the PT Field and Ruck Marches. Go in humble and stay low on the radar until you know the lay of the land there.

There's not much to know as a specialist. Ive had to trained e-5s tankers on radios because they were apparently not around tanks the time they were in. Just need to know radios and basic PMCS. Platoons always train on GST before they have to test and most the stuff gets winged anyways. If you end up in a gunner position its not difficult and you will learn fast. Good luck
