JRTC isn't difficult, especially at the 10-level. You just have to focus on your individual tasks within your team and do what the TL/SL tells you. But before you go, study FM 3-21.8 (the Infantry FM). Mostly the first two chapters. This will tell you where you need to be at all times during operations. If you have any specifics, feel free to message me. Pack what you need trust me the lighter the better. Bug repellent and I would suggest some under armor shirts you don't want to catch pricky heat out there. If you are able to pack some snacks highly recommended, also bring both your water canteens and camel back hydration is going to be on the priority list. Studying, I don't think you will have time for that or the need for it being that your going to a brigade size training event. What you should bring is your cheat sheet of your soldiers skills and/or material you will use in the field. That being sad best of luck and be safe, stay hydrated, stay motivated and get it done. The biggest reason we gave so many gigs And they had so many casualties is no one wanted to listen and everyone wanted to lead. Additionally know your vehicles, take care of your feet, carry a box of dryer sheets for the flys and wear your uniform the right way. <br />It's not going to be fun and it will be hot so hydrate before during and after. I hope you have a good O/C that will stay engaged and don't be afraid to ask questions and get better at your trade. Sure, land nav in the maneuver box is the leader's job, but don't be the guy who just follows along and has no idea where he is the whole time. All part of situational awareness which is important whether you are a leader or not. Even more important if your unit is mounted. I did two rotations, both with a mortar platoon, 81mm on HMMWV's and 120mm on tracks. Constant movement and displacement, land nav was crucial.
