A friend of mine in the defense tech industry said he wasn't worried at all between Trump/Clinton. Their products would be used all the same, and just pointed at different people. I presume that still holds true.

Generally the same thing that has happened every time we have a Democrat President. Reduced troop strength, reduced funding, say goodbye to annual increases in DOD salaries, say goodbye to increased VA disability rates, and say goodbye to tax cuts as a start. Just like Obama went after Retired Military benefits don't be surprised if that happens more. Expect VA services to be reduced as well. The DOD and VA will have their budgets reduced so expect that to create a trickle down effect.

You shouldn't "expect" anything, but I won't be surprised if, after two years of $5T budgets and massive money printing, inflation, and being over leveraged, seeing the opportunity, China makes a hard play on Taiwan, or Saudi Arabia makes a move on Iran. I also won't be surprised if we get involved. Beyond that, expect the military to become ground zero for the federal government's diversity experiment, where identity and inclusion are much more important than the mission.

Hopefully, I'm not sticking my neck out to far on this one, I've met Joey personally when he was a Senator when he came home from work at the Wilmington Train Station in Delaware, I had questions for him then about what he was going to do for the troops/veterans if he gets elected back into congress, he then replied that he will take care of all troops/veterans as much as possible, this was way back in the day. Moving forward when his son Boe passed away and he wrote a book about his life, I met him again personally, from what I've had the opportunity to experience meeting Joey, I can certainly assure you that he holds the military near and dear close to his heart, his son Boe was in the reserves. Joey is a real personable man, he does not care who you are or what your status is he will make you feel as though he has known you for years, because of his personality. Joe Biden is a very good man, I can a-test to that. Furthermore, we do not have to worry about him call any of the troops out-of-pocket names such as the current Idiot-in-Chief has done. Joey has a long road ahead of him trying to flip America towards the right direction along with Vice President Elect Mrs. Harris. Personally, I think that Joe Biden is just what the military/country needs right now, I can truly say that it's been refreshing to here Joey speak from his heart universally to all man-kind. In closing, America, our Troops/Veterans will all be okay moving forward in my opinion.

President Biden will treat the Military with the respect and Dignity it deserves, and will NOT use the Military as a prop, or call the military loses and suckers under his breath like trump did. Disregard all the pre-election BS regarding respect for the military and how we will be taken care of. You will have the same job to do, but the question is what will you have to do it with and what will you be paid. If Biden is sworn in the question is how is he going to fund all the programs he has promised.
When I served under democrat presidents, we generally saw degradation of the defense budget in favor of their social programs. I will never forget walking on the flight line and having 20 aircraft administratively grounded with full systems and flying the remaining 5 aircraft because there was not enough money to gamble with flying the others and risking not being able to ring them back up to cover contingencies.
Base maintenance of operations buildings as well as family support facilities suffered, again because of the lack of DOD funding.
The leftist platform gives many programs that do not bode well for the military and will cause significant inflation if we print the money to fund them. Tighten your belt as you will lose on the front and back ends.

This is a tough one. In my opinion the short answer is not a damn thing. However I could be surprised, good or bad. Trump has re-built the military from what the Obama-Biden administration had done to it. It may stay healthy, it may not. Make no mistake about Biden, he is Obama through and through, and will undoubtedly be trying to push through or even "revive" programs or ideas that Obama wanted but couldn't get. In September The MOAA, (Military Officers Association of America) submitted a questionaire to both asking questions regarding this very thing. I will post the link later. Some of the things Biden answered were vague but maybe promising, remotely. We all know what Trump did as we we're all witness to it unless you live underground. One of the thinge he said was: “The Bidens are a military family, and we know that military families serve too,” wrote Biden, whose son, Beau, served in the Delaware Army National Guard. “After two decades of sustained warfare it is our duty to ensure that military families have the necessary support to thrive.” Now technically yes, partly. Joe himself did not serve, he received several deferments for asthma, that's okay, his son Beau in my opinion was the only true military man and honorable one to serve. Hunter was and is a giant pile of excrement, who couldn't hack it in the military, basically it was an administrative discharge, which to me sounds like what I have seen many get booted for and it was called "A failure to adapt to the environment and mission". To me that equates to your are a loser and should never have been there in the first place, but I am a bit harsh at times, but on this one, not really. I served 34 years, active and reserve combined. I'm no super soldier, or hero, nor am I in possession of any highly rated awards. I did my job to the best of my ability and taught others to do so as well. I abhor slackers, lazy attitudes and half assed performance. So basically I am not expecting anything good from him on any level regarding the military specifically. As I said I may be surprised, but I doubt it. Right now domestic issues far outweigh the need for increased military spending. Years of neglect to the country's infrastructure need to be addressed before we need new jets, new tanks, or ships. Maybe President Biden will replace some of the money #45 took from military construction projections for DOD schools so he could build the wall Mexico didn't pay for. Absolutely keep pay raises and veteran benefits but a pause on new weaponry is needed.

Well, in my opinion, service members will have to expect worse treatment. When Obama and Biden changed the rules of engagement over in the Middle East, we saw sailors basically give up their vessel. We saw countless brave soldiers brought up on charges for making a reasonable decision. The Obama / Biden policies actually made it harder for the brave men and women of the US Military to effectively protect themselves and defend their positions. So, i would guess you'd have to expect at least that much or worse.

Sad but true and history will repeat itself. The only thing good Obama did for the military was write an Executive Order requiring Military Service dogs to be returned to the United States to be available for adoption. In the passed they were either euthanized or left to fend for themselves in country. Many state side desired to adopt theses dogs but the cost to transport them back to the United States made it unaffordable.

Well I know one thing, I have not seen my regular doctor for a year. I call and try to make an appointment and always told All Lines Are Busy Please Call Back at a later time. Then I had a keen surgery and the va is telling me that I might have to pay for all the care and pain pills for my surgery. When I started they took my finance records and they did not say anything about my income. Now making 25 thousand for the year of 2019 that 25,000 is to much and I am not due any health care at all because I make to much. Well I make only 2166 a month which is my deceased wife’s benefits, so the VA does not care for a Vietnam Vet.,

I was a Battery Commander in the Kansas National Guard. In 1976 during the Carter Administration we went to Ft Riley for a live fire weekend. The RA Sgt assigned as our liaison asked how many 8" rounds we had available to shoot. I said 200. He said his 105 unit didn't have howitzer ammunition or fuel. The only training they could do was march to the rifle range and fire their M-16's. One night we were late finishing training and our mess was closed. We tried to eat in the RA mess but the food was inedible. That was my experience when a Democrat was President.

Trump tried to pamper Un twice without success and jostle China; DJT ran a totalitarian state or a dictatorial regime in the USA to bend laws in his favor, but resistance got the better of him because we, in the U.S., enjoy a system of checks and balances; no political party or political leader is above the law.

I bet that we will see less of things like programed flying hours for aviation community, lower food budgets (more beenies and weenies for dinner) and slower depot cycles for our equipment. All of those reduce readiness, but lower the DoD budgets without affecting the meed for cost of living increase. With regards to the DFAS pay scale, that will depend on how far congress digs us into debt to pay for things like the COVID relief package.. I bet we will continue to see cost of living increases. We learned the hard way when soldiers and sailors had to get handouts at the commissary in the mid 70's. But we will probably see less authorized troop levels. Which means the services will be looking for reasons not to allow you to re-up.

Jimmy Carter cut funding and slots for Special Forces Reserve Units by nearly 50%, because he said that they were, "Dirty Fighters", and that everything that Special Ops could accomplish "....could be done by Satellite Surveillance....". President Reagan came into Office, doubled our support, and then Training & Morale skyrocketed. The peaceful separation of the United States. I'm a liberal atheist. For too long the progressive left has been moving ever further left, so much to the point that no one recognizes them. Like third world countries, we made problems by drawing borders based not on who can peacefully live together, but based on resources. And just like the third world problems created by artificial borders, I think we need to redraw them.

There are many political ideologies and most of them can live together. What HAS happened is the Democrats have proposed $753 billion for national defense programs, a 1.7 percent increase over TRump's last budget. Let's be clear this despicable myth that the democrats are Liberal Communist traitors that hate our military is a bunch of ultra right nutwing BS and always has been. It is despicable bald faced lie told by despicable bald faced liars.

Let's be clear both parties have both raised and/or lowered the defense budget DEPENDING on the quadrennial defense review (now called the National Defense Review) that analyzes strategic objectives and potential military threats held every 4 years. That is what determines the US Defense Budget and has since 1996. As matter of fact after WWI and WWII the real Republican Party (not the RINO Dixiecrat Party it has become and is today) presided over the largest draw downs in modern history (1900 to Present). In the old days REAL Republicans actually cared about deficits. Now they really don't except when Democrats are charge. During my 40 year career we went through several drawdowns and buildups done by both Democrats and Republicans. That said, since 1970 there has rarely been a large cut in defense spending and the trend has been generally up both in real dollar value and because of inflation pressures.

But today it's different. Billions of taxpayer dollars are spent on R&D on weapons development programs...For instance the life time cost of the F-35 is going to be around 1.7 Trillion + dollars. Add to that Navy and Coast Guard ships numbers being increased. 6th Generation aircraft R&D and procurement, Army and Marine Corps capitalization of equipment and new procurement plus operational and training costs just to keep up. So both parties are not going to play around with the Defense budget. The threat is just too large to ignore and we have to stay ahead of near peer and regional powers primarily China, Iran, North Korea and Russia not to mention the terrorist organizations we have to contend with. We also have allied cost for NATO and other alliances in the world. We also have 3 wars (Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria) winding down that we've been paying for trillions for since 2001.

But there are other things this country needs that we must take of in order to remain the strongest economy in the world. Our infrastructure is falling apart. Bridges, roads, schools Water ways, hydro electric systems, National Power grid and continuing recovery from the Covid Pandemic plus many more needs that have been put on the back burner for over 20 years now. Additionally, after 20 years of trillion wars it's time we spend some funds on our own people not someone else's. We have our own problems to take care of. And all that takes lots of money.

But even with all that I don't see our Defense budget decreasing but I do see the amount of raise every year going to be less than it has been. Remember the US Taxpayer has spent over 6.4 trillion+ on wars in the Middle east and Central Asia since 2001. So isn't it about time we take care of our own?

So this BS that some are spreading about those evil defense hating Democrats isn't helpful and it is bald faced lie.

This includes those politicians who are former or reservists officers including Tom Cotton who gave tours to the Seditionists who participated in the actions of that day. Every Enlisted, Officer, Reservist, Retiree or Veteran who participated should be charged with Sedition and/or Treason for involvement on January 6th and loose all military benefits as well as Veteran's Benefits for their actions.

The Delusional and Outdated Mindset of Fighting Communism and Socialism is why our Military has failed to do its job. While "Enemies Domestic" are appointed or elected to office to destroy America from within as they're bought and owned by foreign Governments or Corporations; where both the Republicans and Neoliberals are being paid by the same foreign banks or governments that are technically the "Enemies Foreign". For Example: The Former President Trump had nearly 3 BN in loans from Russia, Saudi, and Israel Banking Institutions which should have prevented him from being elected as "conflict of interest" that applies to the same reason why US Military personnel are not allowed to have foreign investments after a certain paygrade or security clearance.

The Chinese Government is smart in building business bridges in making allies by helping to build up their allies countries businesses and strengthen their economies. While the US engaged in passive-aggressive colonial expansionism that does nothing to help win the hearts and minds of foreign countries where our bases are.
