SGT Jared Milazzo 3528802

I am a prior service infantry Marine Sergeant re-classing into active duty Army as a 12T. My questions are the following:
1. Where will I be placed upon completing my training? We would be maneuver support, so does that mean I would be in a Brigade Engineer Battalion (BEB) in support of Brigade Combat Team (BCT) operations? Would I be in an Engineer Battalion in a Combat Sustainment Brigade (CSB)? Both and are there other options?
2. Also within the battalion, do they get placed in combat engineer platoons or do they go to another type of platoon (for instance a construction platoon within a headquarters co, if those even exist)?
3. What is the day-to-day? Will I actually be performing my job as a technical engineer?
4. For those that are 12T's, do you enjoy your job? How are promotion rates and school opportunities?
I would like to thank those ahead of time that read my questions and considered answering. I realize that all of my question will be answered in due time, however I just would like to prepare myself for my transition into the Army. Thanks. What specific types of units do 12T get placed into? What is their daily life like? 2018-04-09T19:28:38-04:00 SGT Jared Milazzo 3528802

I am a prior service infantry Marine Sergeant re-classing into active duty Army as a 12T. It’s a pyramid mos. that means the higher you go the fewer opportunities will be left available to you. As far as doing your job every day it really depends where you land it’s a 50-50 split will you get to do your job or not, and you may end up in a technical detachment from a brigade a battalion element, or you may end up as part of a combat engineer platoon doing combat engineer shit. How much you enjoy your job depends on your superiors and if you’re actually doing it or not. I just got out after serving for years as an E4, and never once made promo points with 416 points. Had a Buddy who made it to E5 and then onto East six but he had damn near all the points in the book and I think he’s the only one who got picked up. Everybody else made it out . Went somewhere else. It’s a great job if you plan on getting out of the military, but if you’re planning on staying in you better look elsewhere. just a heads up from my brother. You barely even see 12T equipment, nor do you do your job Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 13 at 2018 7:19 AM 2018-04-13T07:19:08-04:00 2018-04-13T07:19:08-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 3714655

SGT Jared Milazzo Did you reclass yet? We were in a combat en bn. He was in the S3 shop for two years. He didn't do any Tango stuff at all. The only time then was if they did low density MOS training and that was once a month. Then he went to BDE staff and I think he did slightly more but not much. That's about my the extent of my experience with a Tango.
