Why did you get chartered, many service members end up with children shortly after enlisting for many reasons. The type of separation will likely dictate reentry. A letter does not do much, the essay is intended to hear why you got out and what is different this time around. An RE-Code Waiver is possible for that sep code with an RE-3, provided you are otherwise qualified. You cannot be a single parent. The "essay" is nothing more than your statement regarding your previous service, circumstances of your discharge, and reason for wanting to enlist. This is part of the waiver approval process. The burden in on you to convince the approving authority that the conditions causing your previous discharge no longer exists.
