What steps should I take to minimize professional risk while pursuing an AGR interstate transfer? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-steps-should-i-take-to-minimize-professional-risk-while-pursuing-an-agr-interstate-transfer <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently in the AGR program and have accepted another AGR position in another state. My IST is complete and has been reviewed by NGB but my current state is telling me I must resign from AGR before they will amend my orders and release me to be moved to My new state, i am concerned that resigning my current position could open the door for things being overlooked and I end up with a break in service, missed pay, and lost benefits for my family, help? So your end date where you are at needs to be the day before you start the new orders. Took two mo the of back and forth, NGB got involved. Both commands were fine with the transfers, it was AGR HRO that was the issue. Best of luck. By the way, they accidentally discharged me a week early but the gaining state came through and picked me up the day after. No break in service. This was NJ to NY SSG Andy Dietrich Thu, 09 Apr 2020 08:19:15 -0400 2020-04-09T08:19:15-04:00 Response by CW5 Jack Cardwell made Apr 9 at 2020 8:20 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-steps-should-i-take-to-minimize-professional-risk-while-pursuing-an-agr-interstate-transfer?n=5756282&urlhash=5756282 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>What assurances has the new state given you ? What are your perceived gains in the move ? Talk to them about the process and make sure that it makes sense. You may have to resign from AGR in one state to transfer to another but make sure both states have that understanding. The gaining state may know a better way. I want to IST, but I’ve been told that as an AGR it’s nearly impossible. SSG Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 04 Dec 2020 17:37:01 -0500 2020-12-04T17:37:01-05:00 2020-04-09T08:13:59-04:00
