Now I'm not making any excuses and I know that it's 100% on me that I failed and it's no one else fault but my own but would anyone know what type of discharge I'll receive? I'm only 19 and I don't want this ruining the rest of my life. What type of discharge will I receive for being kicked out for PT failure?2018-04-28T04:48:42-04:00PFC Private RallyPoint Member3583265<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'm a split op reservist (haven't gone to AIT yet) in the USAR and I'm getting kicked out for failing 2 record PT test. You might be eligible to re-enlist in a few months-years with a waiver. <br />Why you won’t get in shape and pass?Response by SGT Eric Davis made Apr 28 at 2018 4:53 AM2018-04-28T04:53:23-04:002018-04-28T04:53:23-04:00SSG Laurie Mullen3583378<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Maybe an Entry Level Separation (ELS) because you haven't completed IET. When I was split-op I didn't take any PT tests between basic and AIT. Did your unit have a unit APFT? We did ours at the end of our two week ATs.Response by SSG Laurie Mullen made Apr 28 at 2018 6:08 AM2018-04-28T06:08:13-04:002018-04-28T06:08:13-04:00SPC(P) Samuel T.3583706<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Aside from the excuses part is there anything wrong with? If there are things wrong or any issues that may be affecting you go get checked. Get a temp profile, stopping the record diagnostic, record process. (id do it anyway and have) I am a reservist. We are lucky because chances are your Doctor doesn't wanna see you get a general discharge either if there mayyyy be an issue. Regardless if there isn't you broke the chain and bought your self 90 more days plus the time on temp which by AR means you cant take a record. I did this...because I was having issues running heavy or after losing weight, come to find out I have a horrible knee ( idk what the spelling is)<br /><br />Hope this helps, msg me if I can help battleResponse by SPC(P) Samuel T. made Apr 28 at 2018 9:12 AM2018-04-28T09:12:34-04:002018-04-28T09:12:34-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member3583894<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I don't think you get a dishonorable for failing two record APFTs if that's what your asking. It should not "ruin your life" to get discharged for failing two record APFTs. <br />"If in the Army AR 635-200, Chapter 13 Unsatisfactory Performance would be the authority to seprate. However, level of discharge would differ with situations. Entry Level Discharge or General would be the "norm" for a Entry level Soldier. But Honorable would occur if you fail after you pass your entry level status." <br /><br />Look up the reg and read through to understand.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 28 at 2018 10:21 AM2018-04-28T10:21:19-04:002018-04-28T10:21:19-04:00MAJ Private RallyPoint Member3584580<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It depends on the commander’s recommendation and the final approving authorities decision. In the ARNG it’s usually a general under honorable conditions.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 28 at 2018 3:03 PM2018-04-28T15:03:15-04:002018-04-28T15:03:15-04:00SGT Joseph Gunderson3588933<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I believe the worse they can give you is a General Discharge.Response by SGT Joseph Gunderson made Apr 30 at 2018 11:35 AM2018-04-30T11:35:55-04:002018-04-30T11:35:55-04:00SPC(P) Private RallyPoint Member3589892<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was released from the Utah National Guard almost 4 years ago with an General honorable discharge. So I got out and went into the IRR for 3 years. During that time I let myself go I didn't care about my body or my weight or even my physical capabilities. That was until I hit 275 LBS. I said that was enough and lost the weight. I felt like my time in the military wasn't enough so I reenlisted into the Reserves last year. First PT test I barely passed (but PASSED). Im 30 years old now and have less then 6 months left on my Initial contract and have a packet in to go active duty. Almost a year later and I have lost 45 LBS.<br />2 of my biggest regrets in life was not joining the military right out of high school and not trying as hard as I have now to be physically/ mentally fit.<br />If its not to late work your ass harder then you've ever worked it before. Don't go my route you'll regret it for the rest of your life in my opinion.<br />Good LuckResponse by SPC(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 30 at 2018 5:59 PM2018-04-30T17:59:52-04:002018-04-30T17:59:52-04:002018-04-28T04:48:42-04:00
