What type of experiences (good and bad) have you had when dealing with your S1/G1/J1 Human Resources Personnel?

Soldiers visit their S1 shops on a daily basis and I was wondering what the quality of support (or lack there of) you all are receiving during these visits.

It all depends on how much research your particular issue requires. The routine stuff gets done in no time. I once had a baggage charge for TDY go 14 months because the S1 couldn't get in touch with the "right" person - BS. The most annoying one was when the Korean Defense Service Medal came out and I had the state S1 shop telling me I couldn't prove I was in Korea. I sat there for an hour with 3 different people arguing that the assignment orders to the 2nd IN Div in my MPRJ were for Korea. Finally someone actually picked up a phone and validated it by, get this, looking at the APO address. DUH!

CW4(P) Detrottus Thomas I am speaking as a military spouse enrolled in the MACP Program. My orders were cancelled and my husband submitted a 4187 that took almost two months to process for his orders to be deleted. I was appalled that the timeline for the 4187 took so long. I was not impressed with his S1 at all, I had to insert myself in the process or he would have been on a plane without his family, for no valid reason. My S1 however is great (I trained them). LOL.
