My uncle says he thinks it was the 3rd Eng Battalion at Killeen TX prior to WWII 1920-30s.

I found this, COL Wesley Querns, but it has no unit named with the photo. If it’s the same, I speculate that it’s an engineering unit of some kind.

I tried Google images, I couldn't find it...this is a very handy freeware tool for analyzing images, to extract features, enhance contrast, and find edges, I was trying to use it on the image, to see if I could get anymore feature out of it, no luck yet...I'd also thought of military heraldry associations, they might certainly have a clue, possibly, I'd thought, as well....

No luck yet...I'm still trying...could you possibly elaborate at all on anything more about it? How you ran across it, any of its history, or any other possibly germane circumstances? Also, the metal tabs at the top and on the bottom, I'd tried to view those in closer detail, nothing yet on those...I see certain features on both of those metal tabs on top and bottom that might, I'd thought, possibly be indicative of more info, however, I can't make them out, exactly...also, did you try any of the professional heraldry groups, as I and others here, I think, had also mentioned, perhaps? Any luck with any of those? Any idea of the age? Was is a family piece, so far as you might be able to say? That of friends, maybe? I only ask as I find such research puzzles of interest, sir, so far as you might be able to possibly amplify at all, perhaps, no rush, obv, whenever convenient, many thanks, definitely a most interesting problem, certainly....
