Veterans are team players, effective communicators, planners and leaders. They have personal accountability and higher ethical standards. This values were baked in while serving in the military. Society needs more leaders with these qualities.

I think determination and drive would be at the top of my list. Strength or weakness...I always believe I can get it done.

Not sure if I will go into a business setting on retirement, but of course I have to be knowledgable on what is available out there.
After growing up an Army Brat and spending my entire life in th eArmy in some fashior or another, I know that I have developed skills related to discipline, critical thinking, and the ability to jump into any problem set, understand it, and figure out how to leverage the subject matter experts to make it better.
If I go into an business setting on retirement, I will be using my training to learn the most about that set of skills necessary to succeed.

You might be surprised. I have been an entrepreneur for over 20 years and love it. But it's not for everyone, that's for sure. Do your due diligence...and you will find the right thing post-retirement.

That is why I started http://www.vetlaunched.com to help vets get business start up information.
