If you think a pack out with Stateside movers is difficult it's an even more of a challenge doing one working for the State Department. You never know what will happen. I was coming from the Embassy in Guatemala and for whatever reason the company doing the pack out only uses large boxes which are about 4 1/2 feet by 4 1/2 feet large squares. Luckily I was able to have them delivered in front of my garage and I just slid them into there so I could disassemble these massive things so I could break down the contents and move them where they needed to be. My final move was fairly easy. I was medically retired and we decided to buy a home in the same area and it was just moving our stuff from the rental to the house we bought. The only snag was that two teams of movers came from the Camp Pendleton TMO and neither would do any work until they sorted out who was assigned the gig. It was this weird stand off in my driveway for like 90 minutes. But after that it was quick and easy. The only way to do that was doing all the packing. MAJ Ken Landgren Thu, 01 Dec 2022 23:31:51 -0500 2022-12-01T23:31:51-05:00 2022-11-28T13:53:16-05:00
