Being a servent leader. Develop strong relationships with key departments such supply sgt, armor, mess hall sgt and your motor pool sgt. You will need all them at some point and time.

I believe the best skill I learned was how to teach. As an NCO it was part of my job to teach the skills necessary to my soldiers. I was also blessed to do a short rotation at the NTC as a guest observer controller trainer, which was an incredible experience. I am hoping to become a high school teacher after completing school and I am sure that the skills I obtained training my men will translate greatly as I become a teacher of young minds.

The ability to work as part of a team, supervise others, confidence and also my Military job I also followed into the civilian world from Law Enforcement in the Military to a civilian Police job. Everything I learned Made My Civilian career such an easy transition esp with the Police Dept being a semi-military type operation and 95% of the Police Officers including the Chief of Police were Armed Forces veterans. Even attending the Brookline Police Academy, Brookline, MA was easier due to My military experience. In the pictures here (1) is Me getting My diploma from the Police Academy, (2) My Academy Class, I'm almost center in the nest to last row from the top. (click on the pictures for a larger image)

I have to agree with "DOC" Public Speaking because when I was an ARMY Trainer Instructor sometime we had one on one or up to 300 in a group. Now Job interviews and speaking to groups is nothing.
