What was your first military "office"?

We all belong to a special group of people who do or did special jobs. What was your first one? This is mine and my fellow brothers and sisters will remember it.

My first military "office" was a tent, I guess. I was in the 82d Airborne Infantry (1975), and as a PFC and a SP4, I didn't rate anything like an office.

My first and only "office" was a desk in the back room of the 459th Sig BN (CA) Chapel at Camp John F. McDermott near Nha-Trang, Republic of Viet-Nam. It was set up so you didn't have to come in through the "religious" part of the Chapel to get to me to talk about your drug problem.

Although, actually, come to think of it, when my shop OIC in Germany took me out of my normal duty as a maintenance team leader and made me the TAERS clerk (The Army Equipment Records System -- anybody remember that?) I did have a desk in the corner of his office.

Post #1 at the American Embassy in Moscow, U.S.S.R. Okay, it may not have been an "office" but it was the first time I ever sat (actually, stood) behind a desk as a U.S. Marine.

My first office was the flight line for HMH-361, at MCAS Tustin CA.

The dungeon of an AAV. Started here, scrubbing rust and pencil erasing radio/antenna connections and all sorts of other "fun" stuff. I still have the scars of many "gator bites" from my time aboard AAVs. Then moved to the driver's station (best seat in the house) and then to the turret (worst seat in the house unless you were putting rounds down range).

My first office was a GP Small with the task of operating a switchboard and 2 radios.
