What were some of your stats when you were selected for WOFT? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-were-some-of-your-stats-when-you-were-selected-for-woft

Right now I'm 18 and in the process of applying for WOFT. I feel I'm a fairly strong candidate with the exception of having more age and college under my belt, however I'm definitely doing everything I can to offset these two factors it seems most others have. That said, if y'all have any tips for me and future applicants, want to share what your stats were when you were/weren't selected, or have any current aviators I could get in touch with, that would be amazing. Thank you for your consideration; I appreciate it. The army is 750 pilots short and the older ones are retiring at 20. Some stay longer if they make CW5. Everyone feels they are special or unique, I can assure you being unique doesn't necessarily make you useful.

Have you taken your SIFT? If not that is step one, study, you only get two shots at it. If you pass you are stuck with your score forever, no matter how good or bad it is.

If you are selected, stay humble. You will show up to a unit as a W1, and a very young one. Just because you are a pilot doesn't make you better than anyone. Never forget that, without your crew chiefs and back shops personnel your aircraft would never leave the ground.

I don't mean to be harsh, you asked for advice. This is the advice others won't give you. And my last piece of advice.
Don't worry about your or others stats. One person may get picked up with a lower sift score but better letters of recommendation, versus a better score and lesser LORs. Stats don't matter, a person's drive to be successful does.

Good luck with your packet and your desire to be an aviator.
