What were your favorite and least favorite deployments/ foreign countries?

I spent 8 years in the USMC from 2006-2014. I deployed 4 times. 1st was the 31st MEU (USS Essex) out of japan. 2nd was the 11th MEU (USS Bonhomme Richard) out of San Deigo. 3rd was to Bagram Afghan. and 4th to Japan. Most favorite was Afghan mainly do to personal space. I had my own room, the people with me at the time were great friends of mine, and everything is simple. Not really much thought had to go into day to day operations. Least favorite was the 11th MEU due to spending pretty much the whole time at sea and alot of time in river city. Favorite foreign country would be Thialand and i leave that one without and explanation.

Good question, Sgt (Join to see). My favorite place to be stationed overseas was Germany, and my favorite foreign countries to visit were Jordan and Israel. I was fortunate to go to Bright Star in the mid 1980s, where I spent six weeks in Jordan, and I was even more fortunate to go on a whirlwind tour of that area, where I got to spend three days in Israel.

I really don't think that I have a least favorite place that I have been to. The Army has sent me to Korea and Iraq, while the Marines sent me to Korea, Okinawa, Cuba, Greece, Austrailia, and Bahrain. So I can't really complain about any of those places.

(my best) was with the marines mid 1970's i loved the phillippines i was there a short time 1feb1977 to 8apr1977 i had a fantastically erotically blessfully time hehehehehehehehe
i wish i could do it right now at 63 i think i would enjoy it better this time around hehehehehehehe

(My worst) was germany...dont get me wrong i loved the night life and i liked my job on the base it was the stupid mindset of the Air Force...
HAD I BEEN BACK IN THE MARINES OR EVEN THE ARMY I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN A LETTER OF APPRECIATION MAYBE EVEN A RIBBON ROFLMAO BUT I GOT A LECTURE AN ASS CHEWING AS TO WHY I HI LITED MYSELF BY SAVING 2 FRANKFURT POLICE OFFICERS LIVES IN THE REDLIGHT DISTRICT...ROFLMAO THE GERMANS WERE VERY GOOD WITH IT BUT THE AIR FORCE TOLD ME I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO RETURN TO GERMANY...HAD I NOT KNOCKED THE TURKISH MAN DOWN WHO WAS TAKING THE 1 GERMAN MALES GUN FROM HIM AND HIS FEMALE PARTNER PANICKED BY INACTION I THINK BOTH OF THEM WOULD HAVE DIED ME BEING A CORRECTIONAL OFFICER I WAS JUST RESPONDING TO A BROTHER AND SISTER IN DIRE STRESS...I RETIRED ARMY ROFLMAO AND I WAS ABOUT TO GET PROMOTED TO MASTER SERGEANT I HAD RECENTLY COMPLETED COURSE 6 AIR FORCE N.C.O SCHOOL.............................
