What will be the next significant improvement to infantry squad weapons? Fire control? Terminal ballistics? Range?

All of the above..

I know there will be technical advances in Infantry squad weapons,just remembering my experiences with the Starlight scope in Vietnam to the current NVGs being used by current Service members,but all the new sexy gizmos cannot take the place of realistic training,complete familiarity with weapon systems and proven reliability of said weapons,my bugaboo that piece of crap M16 we were issued back in the day.
