What will happen to the PT badge now that we have ACFT? Is there any guidance out there?

Please don't answer if you are one of those that does only the bare minimum in APFT/ACFT.

I know several units that conducted multiple APFT's before we switched to the ACFT, anyone who scored enough for the badge they awarded it out. Never seen the process move that fast for any award, even if it's only the PT badge. I think they were trying to get them out before any changes were made.

The criteria for the PT patch is based on the scoring rubric for the APFT.
Right now there isn't an official scoring rubric for the ACFT, it's still being worked on. Until that is complete, they can't adjust the PT patch criteria to account for the changes to the ACFT.

With all the turmoil going on concerning the rollout of the ACFT right now, I'm sure this is the last thing on the Army's plate. If/When the ACFT ever actually does happen, my assumption is that it will be the same requirement, 90 points in each event. If the Army goes to this Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum idea they're talking about, them my guess is you would have to be in the Platinum scoring category to receive the badge. To my knowledge, I haven't seen this discussed anywhere.

By bare minimum you mean scoring 60 points in each event for a score of 180 which meets the standards and scoring anything above is exceeding the standard. Or are you one of those who have an ego that can do well on the APFT/ACFT but take all day to zero and qualify with your assigned weapon?
