Having watched this country choose a draft avoider (second generation), over 24 OTHER CANDIDATES, I despair of seeing actual valid, intelligent, well spoken candidates come forward and actually be given a fair shake after the hair style BOUGHT the presidency......

Good question. I honestly think the biggest limiting factor is money. I flirt with the idea of running for a municipal office sometimes...might eventually, but much more than that seems unlikely. We're probably the least likely to worry about getting the "smear treatment"...in my case, I'd just have to start out my campaign by stating, "If you can think it up...I probably did it at one point in my life, and the fact I'm still alive and not in prison should indicate I've either learned my lessons, or am pretty good at talking my way out of trouble."

SSG SSG James Arlington You have hit on a key issue facing America as a whole and our military specifically. We do need more veterans in government, for your local city or county through the top elected office in the land. With approximately 20% of the US population (a number I have heard quoted in various places) veterans or AD we are by far underrepresented in government and you can tell. Not only how veteran political action affects the veteran community but how veteran politicians will have a much different view of the world and of the United States. We have lost something in our country and that something must be restored in the USA is to survive.
