What will my job until as a 35F Intelligence Analyst? What would a deployment look like? How often will I actually be in the field? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-will-my-job-until-as-a-35f-intelligence-analyst-what-would-a-deployment-look-like-how-often-will-i-actually-be-in-the-field

I am currently in High School and a member of the Army National Guard. Right now I am attending RSP drills until my ship date on June 3rd. I am nervous of course but mainly excited. I am just trying to get as many answers as I can before I ship. If you go to a tactical unit, you will do motor pool and be in the field a good amount. If strategic you will do your job but it will different since you are guard. Talk to your unit. They will have the most info for you. The DEFAC is right next to the barracks so that is convenient. Going to the field will very with what unit you are with. Being junior enlisted means you will most likely spend the bulk of your time doing different details. That's not just for 35F but that is for most if not all junior enlisted. Be prepared to give briefs and retain a plethora of information. Our job is to tie together information provided by the different intelligence jobs and present them. There's a lot more that we do but it is a good base line. In AIT when cochiese college comes around. I also recommend you take there offer. It puts you ahead of peers that don't.

I strongly recommend you look up ADP 2-0. It will be good to be ahead of the curve. As in, check for mistakes in the post you just made. The 35F10 course you'll be taking grades you to the highest standard. The instructors consist of civilian analysts and 35F NCO's the first month or two will have a lot of homework, yes. Just do it. You don't want to be there any longer than you have to your typical day will be early morning PT, then you'll go to chow. Once you go to the DFac you have a certain time you'll have to form up which is when you'll go to class. Best advice for Huachuca is do your best to maintain yourself(haircuts, uniforms etc) your work and your PT. Unless somethings changed the barracks have gyms inside. they were never great, but something. And there should be a PT field you can go utilize. And get out of the barracks on weekends. There's trails, movies. And when you get the ability to go off post you can go shopping. Just dont buy too much. Remember you have to travel with everything. Depending on how well you can do your job will depend on what you will do on deployment. As for field duty MI stands for mostly indoors. If you take your job seriously and do the grunt work so you can get promoted your opportunities will increase. Don't fall into the group who become wall suckers.
