What would be some good interview questions to ask for a "Hero of the Week" interview for a new publication?

I created a new publication called "Uniforms Unite", and I would like to do a weekly post called "Hero of the Week" where I would do a virtual interview for our fellow uniformed heroes (past, present or future). What would be some questions that should be asked?

What motivated them to join, background, military family, etc? If they have valor awards, ask for details.

Get their perspective on Army life. Barring they don't get censored from their Command, this could really help leaders figure things out. If you want people to tune in, make it real, keep it real. Don't use your new forum as a trophy. There's enough of that around.

Before you can ask the questions to the Hero of the Week, you need to establish the criteria to be selected as Hero of the Week.

Examples for the questions to ask (based on criteria) could be:

1) What made them join?
2) Do they come from a family tradition of Service?
3) What is the one greatest thing they did, that had the most positive impact on others, during their time in Service?
4) If they could do something over again, what would that be and why?
5) Who do they see as their hero?

The possibilities are endless, really.

I would appreicate engagement and discussion around the aspect of serving as citizen soldiers. For example:

1) What does the U.S. Constitution mean to you as a Soldier/Marine/Airman, etc.?
2) In trying to unify others, what aspects of our country do you think should be remembered?
3) How can others develop the virtue of self-less service?
4) What areas of leadership have you seen detoriating that need be re-strengthend or given extra attention?
5) How has your military experience translated into your civilian life?
6) How has your military experince affected you as a citizen of the U.S.?

Here's one that will get you some pretty good responses: "How do you feel about being called a hero?"
