What would be the consequences of open borders?

If we declared open borders tomorrow, no immigration restrictions, what would the population of the US be one year later? What would the unemployment rate be?

Impossible, every country needs to know who is in it. If it were to happen the population would explode exponentially, with not having enough resources society would collapse. Look at Britain, the Netherlands, Sweden if you need examples.

At a fundamental level our way of life would change..there would be classes of people and equality would die in the darkness..resources would dwindle and the once great USA would become a third world nation..

I don't believe it would make any difference inasmuch as we already have had open borders and immigration restrictions have been poorly enforced for many years.

Open borders means that there is no country. This is ridiculous. The U.S. will cease to exist without borders.

We've never had open borders, and the only people who ever mention the idea are nativist Republicans ginning up fear.
