What would the try-out be for 11B in a Cav Scout unit?

Heard rumor of tryouts for 11B for the cav unit back on campbell. Wondering what the try out may consist of compared to the try outs for HQ scouts?

Never heard of such a thing. I’d recommend learning and becoming proficient in your chosen craft at this stage of your career.
Just the opinion of a salty old NCO that’s been both Cav & Infantry

Yes, they do this. You will most likely be in the one company of infantry within the cav squadron.

The tryouts are probably pretty similar. But theres a pretty big difference between the charlie troop and an infantry battalion scout platoon. I lost a few good prospects for my scout platoon to the charlie troop, couple months later they had regrets. That's just one bde though, experiences may vary.

Only thing I’ve ever heard of similar to this was tryouts for the infantry scout platoon in 2-22, not for cav scout units. But I’ve also never been to Campbell so idk

I’d check the actual structure of the cav squadron. Typically the Charlie troop is comprised of 11Bs for more direct action or QRF or whatever the squadron needs. A and B Troops are all 19Ds.

I was 1-75Cav, 2BCT, 101st our of Campbell and we had an entire infantry company in our squadron, they were assigned there the same way as everyone else. Because army said so. Was no try outs. Only shit you “try out” for, is pre ranger and things of that nature..

If you want to be a scout that bad reclass if you get the option. If you want "hooah" schools in any way; stay 11B.
