If I could meet him I would just say thank you for being one the best leaders I had the honor of serving under. Second, my serious question would have to be why wasn't he more vocal about the first draw down. A lot of good soldiers lost their military careers because of this. Why didn't he stand up for us troops?Response by SPC Tony Bucaro made Jul 22 at 2015 7:57 PM2015-07-22T19:57:23-04:002015-07-22T19:57:23-04:00CW4 Private RallyPoint Member835953<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Dang it, you beat me to that question.Response by CW4 Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 22 at 2015 8:00 PM2015-07-22T20:00:12-04:002015-07-22T20:00:12-04:00Capt Private RallyPoint Member835970<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I would ask Colin Power why he allowed the first black president to be Obama instead of Colin Powell.Response by Capt Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 22 at 2015 8:11 PM2015-07-22T20:11:07-04:002015-07-22T20:11:07-04:00LTC Stephen C.1923941<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I've never asked General Colin Powell a question, <a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="26105" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/26105-sgm-matthew-quick">SGM Matthew Quick</a>, but I was once in a forum where I could have. I even got to meet him (well, shake his hand)!<br />General Powell's wife is a graduate of Fisk University in Nashville, and he was the commencement speaker there on May 4, 1992. I don't know how it was arranged, but our USAR unit, the 125th Army Reserve Command (ARCOM) was drilling the weekend prior (2-3MAY) and he came by and spoke to us. I can't even remember what he said, but we were all spellbound by his presentation.<br />The security surrounding his arrival and departure was wild. The Secret Service (or something like them) showed up an hour or so before and searched the building. No one was allowed to enter or leave the building for an hour before and after his departure.<br />It was an interesting visit from a most interesting man.Response by LTC Stephen C. made Sep 26 at 2016 9:59 AM2016-09-26T09:59:55-04:002016-09-26T09:59:55-04:00SPC John Waisman3515200<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I don't know about President Obama, but what I would like to ask General Powell is this: would you *please* run for president so I have someone to vote for?Response by SPC John Waisman made Apr 5 at 2018 2:33 PM2018-04-05T14:33:20-04:002018-04-05T14:33:20-04:00MAJ Bruce Davie4517840<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>General Powell: Why didn’t you run for President?
