If you could go back to the day after boot camp/ recruit training/OCS/ etc, what (if anything) would you do differently?
For me it would be 4 things;
1. I would have spent a lot less time and money drinking. Dear lord, if I could have saved even half of what I spent...
2. I would have spent more time worrying about credentials and a degree. I never realized how little my experience meant in the civilian world.
3. I would not have gotten married my first time.
4. I would not have gotten out when I did.

No regrets is a very relative term. I agree we probably all have some things that we realize we should not have done or have done differently.
But, I don't think most have things that they regret to the point of thinking they really screwed up.

I often hear people say that they have "no regrets" ... frankly, I have never bought into that. Everybody has regrets, maybe they are small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but they are still regrets. But, given the question at hand, what would I do differently if I could? Probably nothing. My past is what made me who I am today. I'm not perfect, but I don't have any problem looking at myself in the mirror. Thanks for the question PO3 David Fries.
