Whats the best place to live near Fort Lewis?

I'm at North Fort and I've seen a few good places, mostly in Lakewood or Lacey. Married, no kids, don't wanna blow my whole BAH.

I lived in Olympia straight shot on highway very nice area depending on what you looking for.

I live in Milton. The commute is easy and it’s a nice quiet town no one really knows about.

We live in Rainier, we love the small town...we gave a nice 1/3 acre lot and 2400 Sq ft house

Lacey or Lakewood.

I recommend staying away from Lakewood. Lacey/ Olympia area isn't bad and can put some BAH back in your pocket without leeching your property open to higher crime rates.

I stayed in that neighborhood on American lake. It was real nice.

I would stay on post until I make my 5 and then start looking off post. But that’s just me though. Stay away from Lakewood they say lol. Good luck to you guys though

The closer you are to Post the hirer the cost. If you venture down into Lacey and further south your money will stretch a little further. The prices for housing in Pierce County have ski rocketed over the past 10 years.... start off by getting into an apartment or a duplex first...stick some money away and then if you are feeling froggy you'll have something to use for a house... just my 2 cents!
