Is it true that you can get new orders within a day based off of the needs of the branch?

Yes, but it has been years since I have seen it done. I can recall a Soldier came in from South Korea; inprocessed; decided he did not like Fort Campbell; reenlisted for South Korea; and was on his way back to South Korea within 3 weeks. It is possible.

Absolutely. But the waivers needed to break all the DOD movement rules and policies have to be signed off by a 4 star General. In the Army it takes the Commanding General of Human Resources Command to sign off on that waiver.

Less than a year at Ft Eustis. They needed someone to go to Ft Story and I volunteered. Both were great places to serve.

At one time, I signed into and out of the unit and was gone in a few minutes. 1SGT was screaming mad.

My PCS was from Germany to Alabama. Within 6 months in Alabama I was presented with orders to PCS back to Germany. The funny part was I submitted an extension at my German duty station but was denied all prior to the first PCS. Family of 5 btw.
