When and how can I change my MOS in the Army Reserve, given that I talked with two recruiters and they told me two different things?

One said you can change your Mos After 4 years and it will be hard, but the other one said after 1 year and it will be easy.He mentioned because you know Farsi you can use this skill and change your Mos because the Army needs this language.

Army Reserve MOSs are unit driven. It is common to move to a different unit and have to re-train into a new MOS (probably the easiest way to get a new MOS). If you have decided on the Army Reserve with your language background find out if there is a Civil Affairs unit in your area. Good luck!

It will also depend on the MOS you have now, whether or not you received a bonus, how long your current contract is for, have you spent time in the regualar Army, etc. So, there are several factors, It would be very unlikely for you to be approved after serving for one year in an MOS that you contracted for if serving on your first USAR enlistment. If this is your initial contract, you are probably serving on a 6X2, which would make the best time for changing your MOS in year 5.

When are you going to join the Army Reserve? If so, are you thinking of changing your MOS to Intelligence when you have the opportunity?

Ultimately changing your MOS in the Army Reserve is a direct result of how much the money the unit has to send Soldiers to training.
If you are under a bonus contract, the portion of the contract not served in the bonus MOS will be terminated and recouped. Ex. $6,000 for 6 year reenlistment. You reclass at year 4 into the contract, expect $2,000 to be recouped. If you are not under a bonus contract, there is nothing holding you back. Then it is a matter of finding the unit with the MOS you desire and also has money to send you to training. While there is no requirement for years in service before you are able to reclass, you must have at least one year left on your contract after graduation date of your new MOS. You can extend to meet this requirement.
