When applying for top Secret security clearance, will the investigator look at your tax records and find out your history of employment?

Also, will the investigator interview your former bosses? I’m just curious.

Yep, DIS agents will descend upon your hometown and other places you you have lived and talk to folks you listed and get names from them for folks you have not listed and talk to them. Stop by your local cop shop and talk to them. When they finish they will know more about you than you know about yourownself.

The only thing i’m worried about is the fact that I got fired. That’s the only blemish on my record that I can think of.

Micah Matthews - As long as you didn't get fired for theft or assaulting or some sexual misconduct, you should be fine. They talked to my high school teachers and they still cleared me ;^).
Disclose, disclose, disclose. They generally don't hold being stupid in your youth as long as they know about it.

This tag makes no sense. Recommend deleting the tag. Use security clearance, background investigation, and ENTAC.

They will look at what they feel they need to look at and will talk to whomever they feel they need to. Relax.
