My Chain has told me my Paternity Leave started when the baby was born from the c section. He also has been in the NICU for a week now. Wife is also still in the hospital and on medication for high blood pressure Do these factors affect my paternity leave? When does paternity leave start? After the baby is born or when the wife is discharged from the hospital? When does Paternity a leave start? 2020-01-09T16:03:40-05:00 PFC Private RallyPoint Member 5429340

Hello All, I was recently returned home due to a Red Cross message that my wife was suffering from preeclampsia and that she was having an emergency c section. You still have to submit the request for paternity leave because it isn’t automatic.

If you haven’t been at work, you command can make you take personal leave or start your paternity leave since your child has been born. What exactly is the situation? Have you been off since the birth?
