I have heard of commands allowing this, but the reg doesn't appear to allow them to do so. This came up as an issue a number of years ago when I was at Fort Campbell in the 101st. The division HQ realized that subordinate commanders had been mistakenly authorizing transition PTDY for soldiers who were separating under a normal ETS. They immediately sent out a directive clarifying that commanders couldn't authorize it under those circumstances (so they stopped). LTC Kevin B. If it is technically allowed or not, I do not know. SGT David T. Wed, 24 Jan 2018 08:08:06 -0500 2018-01-24T08:08:06-05:00 2018-01-24T01:59:35-05:00
