Ensure everybody is treated with respect. Work to have uniform camouflage uniforms, headgear that makes sense. Train and fight as combined arms - increase training and establishing relationships between Army units and other services.

It drove me absolutely crazy when Soldiers would be satisfied with a score in the low 200s on their PT test because, in their words, they were "excellent mechanics".....so as long as they passed their PT test it was ok. I was in a support company so that is why I use the mechanic example.

From developing relationships with guys who were in during the "Old Army"....these guys used to be made examples of. I wish I could have been a part of that day.

I would bring back a rifle that when you shot a man...that man stayed the hell down....none of this cute green-tip ball where you have to hit an organ...you smack a man with a 7.62...he is gonna think long and hard about getting back up....

I had to look up "pinks and greens", and then I realized, I actually like the look of that for a service uniform. That being said, I always thought the khaki uniforms for the AF should make a comeback

CH (MAJ) Private RallyPoint Member, pinks and greens would work for me! ASUs should go back to dress blues as well. However, on another of your discussion threads I indicated that berets (but for SF and Ranger) should be ditched for a return of the service cap and the garrison cap (glider patch for airborne troops). This would be consistent with a return to the pinks and greens as I see it!

Hand to hand training and knife fighting. Not just the introductory stuff we were taught before we went to Vietnam. Heavy on the hand to hand to build confidence in the soldier, and knife fighting to make him more than able to defend himself if the need arises.

2nd the pinks and greens, the WWII era garrison cap, keeping the garrison cap under the epullete. Issue coveralls to each and every soldier. Ban tanker boots and jump boots and have one fracking awesome pair of boots so there wouldn't be a need for all the other ones. Clean up the army uniform and get rid of all the excess trinkets that just cheapen it to point where a E-4 looks like a third world dictator. Make drivers training part of AIT and OBC or what ever they call it now. If we are going to spend millions of dollars on equipment, field the correct repair kits for the maintainers.
