When I commission, I will still have 1 year of school left. Can I request that my CoC avoid activating me during that time, so I can finish?

First off, you will not be fully qualified until you attend your branch BOLC, I have not heard of them deploying unqualified Officers. You will need both that course and a 4 year degree to promote, if you didn't know that already. I would look at my school schedule and figure out when you will be able to attend BOLC. Are you staying an Engineer? That course is 20 weeks, figure at least another week for in processing and out processing.

Yes sir, I plan on branching engineer. I’ve heard you can’t deploy without BOLC but I didn’t know if that applied to ADOS orders such as a natural disaster, which would delay degree completion. They informed me that I will have 2 years to complete BOLC after OCS graduation, so I was planning on doing it the year after I graduate. I just didn’t want them to get dates for me that interfere with semesters.

SPC (Join to see) - Most of your activation for natural disasters is State Active Duty and We/I would always call the guys that were unemployed, under employed or just liked the duty first. Not much for an unqualified 0-1 to do unless they put you on whatever you were licensed to operate as enlisted. The same with Active Duty Operational Support or Active Duty Special Works, if you don't volunteer, you probably won't see that kind of duty these days. If it gets bad enough to call out everyone, I don't think missing a bit of school will be a big issue.
