SGT Private RallyPoint Member 5258376 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I recently completed the long process of transferring to the Army Reserve to the Regular Army. I will be reporting to Fort Riley (yay) in January. I am married however my spouse is currently in training. She will graduate basic training in a few days and report to OCS immediately thereafter. So, when I report to Riley she will still be in OCS. I’ve read numerous posts regarding dual military stationed apart but haven’t come across anything close to our specific situation. When I get to Fort Riley, will I be authorized BAH and on/off post housing? Will I be stuck in the barracks until my spouse completes OCS and BOLC and gets orders to join me at Riley? Assuming, of course, there are slots for her at Riley. We have a dog and an entire house so I am trying to prepare for the possibility of getting stuck in the barracks. Thanks in advance for any guidance. When I report to Fort Riley, while my wife is still completing OCS, will I be authorized BAH and housing or will I be put in the barracks? 2019-11-20T20:40:56-05:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 5258376 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I recently completed the long process of transferring to the Army Reserve to the Regular Army. Request BAH upon reporting. The worst that can happen is getting denied. If you have children you will be authorized housing, that could mean on post or off. The most important thing you need to worry about is your wife&#39;s orders. Does she have orders to Fort Riley? When she signed up she should have put it in her contract so you two are not stationed separately. Once you have the opportunity you need to enroll in The Army Married Couples Program! If you are stationed apart a call to branch might solve it however if that doesn&#39;t work you might try for a Compassionate Reassignment. My wife and I were dual military until I retired in 2015. Good luck. Riley and your in-processing, ask the Finance Department while they are paying you your travel pay etc., upon arrival. Also, if you station down on the hill, please tell 716 MP Battalion I said hello :-) .
