Early spring and in autumn are best. Summer is not advised but is practiced in certain areas. Deciduous trees are best left alone unless trimming in the dormant winter months as a newly planted tree does not have the ability to properly establish it's root system into the new soil and only has about a 50% survival rate if re-planted.
