I have enjoyed sharing Baxter's open opportunities with this network and connecting with you all. I know I'm one of many Civilian Recruiters posting opportunities so how do I stand out? Share some aspects of a job posting that catches your eye and makes you want to learn more! I'm looking forward to hearing your responses and implementing. When reviewing an open job opportunity on RP, what are some aspects that catch your attention? For example, (before COVID) I drove half an hour, rode a train for half an hour, then walked another quarter hour. My job is great, but you can see what I go through each day. I am ready to retire from that situation if I could find something suitable and within a reasonable commute.

My experiences include both the working levels and senior management levels. I pride myself in believing my skill set is unique, and would greatly benefit almost any company.

You might want to allow for individuals to contact you directly with their skillsets, to see how marketable they are within a particular commuting range. Thanks for leveraging us (veterans) accordingly; its a team effort!

I was once a veteran scouring through the multitudes of job posting platforms, websites, and recruiting firms looking for my next chapter in life. As you know, most of us transition out with little to no comprehension of what makes us marketable; besides resilience, soft skills, and making things happen. When recruiters are able to bridge the gap between the job role and military role it definitely helps the cause. I recruited for the military during my service and then recruited for the business organization I'm currently affiliated with but as a civilian; night and day similarities/differences! Basic job postings could potentially attract more veterans if they had certain relatable skillset explanations/descriptions that were being specifically desired; communications, maintenance, supply, HR, etc. In addition, certain soft skills could be listed to provide more fidelity or relevance to the job posting and desired applicant. Lastly, if certain job postings/career opportunities are to manage other colleagues maybe adding the organization size/structure might help in attracting viable applicants. I hope this helps!

-Joey Response by CPT Jose Hinojosa made Apr 8 at 2021 11:48 AM 2021-04-08T11:48:03-04:00 2021-04-08T11:48:03-04:00 2021-04-05T09:56:34-04:00
