CPL Private RallyPoint Member 7957919

I'm currently at the tail end of transferring from Reserves to Active. My promotion packet was submitted awhile back and I'm wondering since the Reserves doesn't have an in-person board if I'll have to restart the promotion process and go to the board when I get to my Active unit. My situation isn't a common one so it's hard to find guidance on it. My instinct tells me I'll have to completely restart the promotion process, but I'm hoping maybe I'll get lucky. When switching from the Army Reserve to Active duty as a promotable CPL, do you have to go to an Active Duty Board? 2022-10-31T01:06:48-04:00 CPL Private RallyPoint Member 7957919

I'm currently at the tail end of transferring from Reserves to Active. Not sure why you weren't getting the answer from your folks as the regulation (600-8-19) is pretty clear on it:

5–21. Reassignment prior to promotion
a. When a Soldier is reassigned outside the jurisdiction of the promotion authority, he or she must be removed from the PPRL. A copy of the PPRL will be forwarded to the Soldier’s gaining command.

So, you're removed from the promotion list but basically the recommendation that you be promoted is forwarded to your gaining command.
