I commissioned two years ago through the National Guard. Prior to commissioning, I re-enlisted for the SLRP. I have four payments left, if I switch from the Guard to the Reserves will I be able to keep my SLRP?

Also, how hard is it to switch to the reserves?

I would say most likely you will lose your SLRP as it was based on your MOS and would not transfer over to an AOC. You might be able to work it into your contract, but most likely not. Now if you are branching to AMEDD certain AOCs are eligible for SLRP as part of the contract.

You will have to have it included in your new contract with the reserve component.

So if I switched over, I would most likely lose it? Are they offering bonuses for Officers?
