Good day chiefs!
Base question is when is a good timeline to submit a WO packet, and what would help with getting selected first time?
I am currently at 7 years in, with time in the 82nd, usasoc, and now Joint Staff for what I think is a good array of experience. I have about 1 year left to finish my AAS in intelligence operation studies.
From talking with and working with chiefs in the past I know I want to pursue WO, but originally planned to at about 10 years in. Recently however I've been looking at dropping the the packet next year which would be at 8 years in.
Thoughts on time line, and if I should wait until I finish my associate's prior to or not?
Thank you in advance!

Think about it this way. What's the worst thing that can happen if you drop a packet and don't get selected? You try again. If you wait to drop the packet, you're waiting to even be considered. I say drop it. You never know what road blocks will become show stoppers down the road if you wait.

Get your AA. I had one. I went bootstrap.one year off to go to Monterrey Peninsula college.

Having been accepted not long ago, I suggest beginning your packet up to 8-months out from the actual packet turn-in deadline you’re shooting for. It gives you plenty of time to get what you need completed and QA the packet itself.

Sounds good, I've got the packet shell and starting to work on things so I've got the time. Thank you for the help!
